Slipper Day: Make a child’s dream come true

2013-07-31 00:00

THE Reach for a Dream Foundation has asked everyone to kick off their work shoes and spend this Friday in their comfy bedroom slippers for Slipper Day.

The campaign, “Reach for your Slippers” asks schools, businesses and individuals to buy slipper stickers for R10 each. This allows you to wear your bedroom slippers to work on Friday, August 2.

The money raised will help the the foundation fulfil the dreams of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

Last year’s “Reach for your Slippers” campaign raised R430 000 across KwaZulu-Natal. This year the foundation aims to better that but setting a goal of R500 000. All the money will go towards making a child’s dream come true.

To add incentive to this year’s campaign, prizes are up for grabs for those who sell the most slipper stickers.

The company or individual that sells the most stickers will win a night’s accommodation and dinner for ten at The Fairmont Zimbali Resort. The school that sells the most stickers will win tailor-made theatre workshops and a production by Paw Paw Productions.

Stickers are available directly from Hirsch’s Homestore, Circus Circus Café and other shopping outlets. You can call 031 566 2220 to find out which outlets are selling the stickers or e-mail to order them.
