South Coaster of the day

2011-07-08 00:00

MELISSA Baikie dreams of travelling the world, making a difference in people’s lives and believes that one of the most important things in life is a supportive family. The Witness got to know Baikie a bit better.

How long have you been on the South Coast? I grew up on the South Coast, having left only for four years of studying in Cape Town, and one year working in Johannesburg. So all in all about 20 years.

What do you do for a living?

I do the marketing for the KZN branches of Halfway Toyota.

Describe your job in a short sentence? The PR side is fun, creative, and opens a lot of doors.

What would you consider as the most important things in your life? A supportive family, which I definitely have. Good friends who are there to listen after a long day, and my little daschund, Romeo.

What is your biggest dream?

To fulfil my potential, and be the best person I can be.

If you could meet anybody famous who would it be and why? I would have to go with two old-school bands — Roxette and Bon Jovi. Their music always makes me smile, no matter what kind of a day I’m having.

If you could change someone’s life in a positive way, what would you do? I would give them the ability to see themselves through God’s eyes, and to see how loved and blessed we all really are.
