A TRUCK driver was fined R2 500 for speeding on the N2 on the North Coast yesterday evening.

Police caught the 34-year-old man doing 120 km/h along a stretch with an 80 km/h speed limit.

Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said the driver was clocked in the northbound lane of the N2 near Tongaat River Bridge near Stanger.

He was charged at Tongaat police station.

“Right now he is still at the police station trying to get his neighbours to give him the money,” said Mngomezulu.
