A FOREIGN speedster was given a hefty fine after he was caught driving at more than 200 km/h on the south coast this week.

Croatian Tihor Pokoric was caught driving at 201 km/h in a 120 km/h zone on the N2 on Thursday evening.

Pokoric was arrested after being caught and detained at the Scottburgh police station overnight before being released on bail.

He was fined R30 000 yesterday in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court.

Transport MEC Willies Mchunu applauded the Road Traffic Inspectorate for upholding KZN’s known no nonsense approach to speeding.
