St Charles win memorably against St John’s

2011-03-01 00:00

THE Hilton U16 Cricket Festival held over their half-term weekend was a great success.

St Stithians emerged as the top side they were the only team to win all four matches. St Charles, after losing their first game against St Stithians, then won their next three games. This included a very exciting and memorable win against St John’s by one wicket in a low-scoring game.

C. Campher from St Stithians was the only batsman to reach three figures when he made 104 against St Charles. Marc van Wymeersch and Campbell Caley both from Hilton scored well, but their side only managed to win one game. Another local player, Devon Hesse from St Charles, was also among the runs on two occasions.

Two bowlers, both in the same match, Chris Jones from St Charles and Y. Parak from St Stithians, took five wickets each.

Matt Lavis form Hilton captured five wickets in a T20 match against Clifton.
