Still missing: Search for father continues

2011-07-12 00:00

A PIETERMARITZBURG man, Andries Nicolaas Oelofse (69), who went missing two weeks ago, is still being sought by his family.

One of Oelofse’s five children, Jan, said his father went to local store and never returned home.

After an earlier Witness report, Jan said, “We got a call on Friday saying they saw him at Market Square and we went to search for him there but we didn’t find him.”

He said the family have called several mortuaries and hospitals and they search for him every day.

“I’m thinking that wherever he is now, is he disoriented. Losing a father and not knowing what could have happened to him is your worst nightmare because you don’t know what to expect,” said Jan.

Oelofse was wearing a white shirt and blue suit trousers when he left his home. He is an amputee with only one hand. He speaks Afrikaans and can communicate in English, IsiZulu and SeSotho. Anyone who might know where

Oelofse is should call their nearest police station or his son, Jan, at 076 850 5599.
