‘Supermom’ joins the Dusi

2011-02-07 00:00

“SUPERMOM” Joanne McLeod of Johannesburg will test her endurance when she takes up the challenge of paddling in the toughest canoe race in the country during the annual Dusi Canoe Marathon.

She will be raising funds for The Smile Foundation.

Last year McLeod ran a tough cross-country race across the Australian Outback over seven days for the same cause.

“As a mother, I have always felt a need to do something to help The Smile Foundation and the children that benefit from the organisation’s activities,” McLeod said.

The doughty mother of two is a firm supporter of The Smile Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to providing impoverished children with facial abnormalities free corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery.

To support McLeod, go to www.smilefoundation.co.za or call 087 808 8682 to make your pledge. All the money donated will be used for the surgery, which will be done in a child-friendly environment.
