Supersport Series: Dolphins to open campaign against Knights

2010-09-28 00:00

AFTER a gruelling pre-season in which the players were put through their paces by coach Graham Ford, the Nashua Dolphins head to Kimberley to open their SuperSport Series campaign against the Chevrolet Knights at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley from Thursday.

Imraan Khan leads a new-look team that includes new signings in leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who has just completed a successful season with Warwickshire, and left-arm chinaman bowler Tabraiz Shamsi, signed from the Lions in the pre-season, while new boy Byron Whatmore, a right arm seamer from Berea Rovers, makes the final twelve.

The Dolphins will also be looking to Proteas’ batsmen Hashim Amla, David Miller and Loots Bosman to bolster their batting, along with Khan himself and Ahmed Amla.

Quinton Friend will once again lead the bowling department.

Squad: Imraan Khan (Captain), Loots Bosman, Hashim Amla, Ahmed Amla, David Miller, Daryn Smit, Jon Kent, Kyle Abbott, Quinton Friend, Imran Tahir, Tabraiz Shamsi, Byron Whatmore.
