Supporters go extra mile for Sharks

2013-10-26 00:00

SHARKS supporters have descended on Cape Town in their numbers ahead of the team’s titanic clash against Western Province in the Absa Currie Cup final today.

KZN Sharks Supporters Club chairman George Laas said the black-and-white-wearing fans who had made the trip were looking forward to a great spectacle.

“We have flown into Cape Town to enjoy ourselves. We are very confident that the players will give us a good game”, he said.

He said they were a little nervous as Western Province had the home advantage.

Laas said the level of support for the Sharks by people who lived in Cape Town was unbelievable.

Those supporters who could not make it to the game will no doubt be watching it at home or in local pubs.

Sharks spokesperson Nivashni Chetty said fans were giddy with excitement.

A steady stream of supporters had been buying Sharks merchandise ahead of the big game, she said.

The match kicks off at the DHL Newlands stadium at 5.30 pm.
