Tatham’s online shopping

2009-12-22 00:00

IF you haven’t yet done all your Christmas shopping and you are looking for innovative and affordable gifts for under R50, then try the Tatham Art Gallery shop’s new website at www.tathamshop.co.za

Not only will you get a lovely gift for someone special but you’ll be able to avoid all the Christmas crowds in the shops, and you’ll be supporting KwaZulu-Natal artists and crafters.

Your choice of items can, once ordered, be collected from the gallery in Pietermaritzburg, or for a minimal delivery fee, be dispatched directly to any chosen address.

Among the items on sale are African Faberg é eggs, embroidered photo frames, hand-embroidered key rings, brass and silver angels to decorate the Christmas tree, lead-free pewter items with captivating wildlife characters, beaded hair clips, woven wire baskets, brightly coloured handbags and beaded slippers.

Other special pieces include Eunice Cele necklaces made from designs by artist Andrew Verster and Chicken-Man T-shirts. Before he died in 1995, Chicken Man sold his popular signs outside the Tatham Art Gallery. The T-shirts are copies of some of these signs.

To purchase any of these items visit www.tathamshop.co.za or visit the shop, which is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. Inquiries: 033 392 2828.
