Tavern: car wash raided over noise

2012-06-26 00:00

A CAR wash owner from Sweetwaters appeared in court yesterday following a raid on his business over the weekend.

The police’s Cluster Tactical Response Team raided Thandabantu “Mbha” Sibisi’s Ka Bha’s Carwash, which also functions as a tavern, on Friday following complaints of noise in the area.

The raid produced alcoholic beverages valued at R4 000.

Sibisi (40) faces a charge of selling liquor without a licence.

He was warned to appear again on July 20.

• Last week, the owner of another local tavern, 033 Lifestyle in Imbali, got back liquor seized in a raid there.
