MORE charges were levelled at accused Shawn Mpisane in the Durban Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Mpisane is out on R50 000 bail for alleged failure to submit VAT declarations amounting to R2 246 664,89 in 2005. Now an additional R4 759 382 is being disputed by the SA Revenue Service and Mpisane is accused of forgery involving R1,2 million in invoices.

Tax charges against the Druban tycoon have increased from 58 counts to 172. The matter has been provisionally adjourned until February 6.

Mpisane and her husband voluntarily handed over some of their moveable assets last year as surety to SARS.
