Team of Choice to unveil two latest signings today

2012-07-03 00:00

MARITZBURG United are set to unveil two more signings today. This comes a week after the club revealed that Delron Buckley, Orlando Smeekes and Mthokozisi Yende have all been lured to Harry Gwala Stadium for the upcoming PSL season.

With chairperson Farouk Kadodia mum yesterday over who the players are, United fans will be eager to see who the latest additions to what is already a new-look squad will be. With wingers Kurt Lentjies and Felix Obada already leaving the Team of Choice, and Senegalese centreback Mor Diouf likely to be snapped up by a bigger club in the coming weeks, United are in the process of rebuilding their squad.

Kadodia has also confirmed that striker Diyo Sibisi is on the transfer list, and that any offers will be considered for the 30-year-old.

Zimbabwean striker Terrence Mandaza (27) has been linked with a move to Maritzburg as a replacement for Sibisi, and is likely to be one of the two players unveiled today.

Mandaza has found himself amongst a busload of players released by Platinum Stars ahead of the new season after netting just two league goals for the club last term.

With Diouf likely to leave Harry Gwala, United must surely be in the market for a centreback.
