Think you’ve got what it takes to outwit, outlast, outplay on ‘survivor’?

2010-08-27 00:00

A WHOPPING R1 million has been allocated by M-Net for the next winner of Survivor South Africa — but before you even have the chance of playing for the cash, you’ll need to convince a selection panel that you deserve to become a contestant.

Open castings for places on the island in the Maldives will be taking place at the Sahara Cricket Stadium in Durban tomorrow, with registration from 9 am to 3 pm. You must bring along an ID document to prove you’re a South African citizen and older than 21, and you’ll need a valid passport, or proof that you have applied for a passport, said M-Net publicity manager Lani Lombard.

Once registration is completed, it’s a wait to hear whether you’ve got a call-back audition on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

As for what to expect at the auditions, Lombard says: “We don’t want to reveal too much detail, as we want to see how people react to different situations. But we can say that we are looking for a handful of interesting people with strong characters who understand that it’s not only about survival in the wilds, but also about social relationships and playing the mental game of Survivor.”
