Three KZN schools win their second games

2013-09-24 00:00

THE second day of Michaelmas Week was played under largely blue skies but with a chilly nip in the air on Sunday.

Michaelhouse, Westville and DHS were the three KZN schools to win their second games, while Affies and KES are the only two others to win on both days.

The first century of the festival was scored by Liam Smith from KES while Brandon Tattam from Michaelhouse and Tyler Easton (PBHS) both scored in the 90s. The best bowling performance was Diego Jasson from Hudson Park. He also scored 88 in Hudson Park’s total of 242/8, losing by 12 runs against Michaelhouse.

There were other all-round performances by Easton from PBHS with a four-wicket haul to go with his 90. Luke Stevens from Michaelhouse — in the same game — and Jayden Broodryk from KES were also in both the run and wicket columns.

Hosts Maritzburg College tied their match with St John’s with both sides ending on 219.
