Three in court for attack on 90-year-old

2013-09-12 00:00

WHILE the police search is on for at least one more suspect in the attack on an elderly Oslo Beach woman last week, the three men arrested so far appeared in court yesterday. Bail was opposed, and the case has been postponed to next week.

On September 4, 2013, at about 10.05 am at Pollux Road, Oslo Beach, the victim (90) was found by her daughter, unconscious with an open wound to the head, said police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane.

Upon inspection, the daughter noticed that the back door was wide open and the house had been ransacked; money and other belongings were missing. The victim was taken to hospital for medical attention.

The investigation led the police to the Bhobhoyi area, where two men aged 19 and 29 were found in possession of items that were stolen during the house robbery and arrested by Port Shepstone police on Monday.

A third man (22) was arrested on Tuesday evening in Bhoboyi by the Port Shepstone police tracing team.

The police investigation is continuing.
