Toys for girls in Royal's Adult-Only hall

2008-05-23 00:00

For the first time in 158 years, the Royal Agricultural Show is hosting an Adults Only stall in Hall 6.

Journalist and owner of OhZone (a woman-friendly sex education and sex toy business), Lindsay McDonough, will be displaying and selling her range of sex toys, sexy lingerie, sex books and naughty novelties.

On a trip to the UK, McDonough was surprised to see how open people were to intimacy-related products.

She found Pietermaritzburg women to be “quite a lot more conservative” and was disappointed at how male-orientated a lot of adult shops are.

She then decided to set up a range of sexy goodies designed for women and started selling it online at www.ohzone.co.za.

In February, she exhibited Oh Zone for the first time at the What Women Really Want Expo and was amazed to receive a positive response. “The toys, books and lingerie virtually flew off the stand — confirming that the naughty stuff is what women really want,” she said.

Though her range is designed for women, she said they do not exclude husbands and gay couples.
