Tribute to a music legend

KWAZULU-NATAL Gigs, together with Maritzburg Musicians Club and Steve Fataar, present Celebrate Syd Kitchen with Friends at the Forgotten Falls in Howick (corner of Main Road and Karkloof Road), from 11 am to 9 pm on May 15.

It promises to be an unforgettable day with Kitchen’s friends and fellow musicians performing tributes to the late South African music legend, who died of cancer in March. Dave Marks (Third Ear Music) will contribute his unique talents as emcee on the day.

The line-up of musicians includes Steve Fataar, Steve Newman, Hinds Brothers, Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters, Jonathan Handley (Radio Rats), John Ellis, Pan Latino, Ryan Calder, The Bandits, llan Lax and the Splayed Ferrets.

Take your own drinks and picnic baskets. CDs will be on sale. Sound will be supplied by Progressive Productions, and equipment supplied by Big Beat.

A cash bar will be supplied by the Corner Post (Howick), while meals and beanies featuring Kitchen will be on sale.
