Tuesday's Rock at Café Vacca Matta

2008-05-19 00:00

On May 20, two featured Durban artists will perform at Cafe Vacca Matta

Aidan Cornhill and The Dearly Beloved:

Aidan Cornhill is a singer/songwriter from Durban, South Africa. His blend of pop, folk and country is nostalgic and sentimental with a lyrical integrity not often heard on today’s airwaves. Cornhill rode his first wave of prominence in 2003 as co-writer and guitarist for South African band Deluxe. Since then, his music has featured on films, television shows, national advertising campaigns and high rotation on radio. Seaside B-sides is the title of his debut solo album, a collection of demos captured during 2007 at Tropical Sweat Studios in Durban and Eastwood Studios in Nashville Tennessee. Aidan also performs with his indie/folk band The Dearly Beloved.

Lizé

Lizé is fronted by the singer/songwriter Lizé. Her uniquely smooth voice instantly takes you back to the great vocal divas of yesteryear who knew how to wow a crowd with pure energy and vocal power. With an impressive vocal range, rock solid performance, and a style uniquely her own, Lizé strips down the band and performs a special acoustic set tonight but be sure to catch her when she and her band support Freshlyground at the Royal Show on May 24.

Doors open at 7pm. Bands at 8pm. No cover charge. Inquiries: 031 309 1643 or 083 742 5145.
