DAVID Notoane and Wendell Robinson have been appointed to take charge of Amajita when they tour Qatar and Russia as part of the squad’s preparations for the Orange CAF Youth Championships in Senegal next year.

The U20 squad travel to the Middle East on Wednesday, January 7 and play a Qatar select side on Saturday, January 10 before heading to Russia where the squad will compete in the 2015 Russian Commonwealth tournament that will run from January 15-26 2015.

Making the announcement, U20 coach Thabo Senong, who will not be able to travel with the team due to Bafana Bafana commitments, said both Notoane and Robinson were capable individuals who were already part of the U20 system.

“We need to do well in Senegal by finishing among the top four to qualify for the World Cup but I am thinking beyond finishing among the top four. I want us to go to Senegal to win the tournament. I am aiming very high and that is very possible,” Senong said yesterday.

Amajita have been drawn in Group B together with Ghana, Mali and Zambia while Group A consists of hosts Senegal, Nigeria, Congo and Ivory Coast.
