Two women teachers assaulted

TWO female teachers, who are members of Sadtu, alleged that they were manhandled and assaulted by striking teachers and nurses in Vulindlela outside Pietermaritzburg on Thursday.

They teach at Mlungisi High School in kwaDindi. They said they were attacked by members of the union who accused them of working during the strike.

“All those who attacked us were men. One of them pulled me by the hair and slapped me across the face while calling me igundwane [traitor],” said Nolindo Mncwabe.
