UFO in photo mystery

2011-05-09 00:00

LOCAL musician Jammo is scratching his head following the appearance of an unidentified flying object (UFO) on a photograph taken with his camera.

Jammo (aka Mark Jamison) said he was at a gig at Mountain View, near Bishopstowe, on Easter Monday afternoon when he handed his camera “to someone to take a few snaps”.

“When I later downloaded them, I found a UFO … in the top right corner of this photo. Index it with the white chairs in the picture and you’ll see that if it were a frisbee thrown near the camera it would be nearly a metre in diameter. It’s definitely large and in the distance. I thought it might be an aeroplane flying towards the camera, but enlargements show it is saucer-shaped.”

Speaking to The Witness yesterday, Jammo said he was “blown away” by the image. “Looking on the Internet, this is far better than many of the UFO pictures out there. When blown up, the UFO has a weird aura around it. Maybe it was an invisibility cloak which stopped people seeing it.” He said no one had reported seeing the object at the time.

Left: A blown up version of the photo.

Jammo had handed his digital camera to Jenna Underwood to take photos of a pillow fight during the fun event. A surprised Underwood said she had not noticed the strange object when she took the picture.
