UKZN: Top ’07 matriculant graduates

2012-04-19 00:00

KWAZULU-NATAL’S top matric achiever of 2007, Wayne Frederick, received his electronic engineering degree with honours at the University of KwaZulu-Natal School of Engineering graduation ceremony this week.

Frederick is reading for an MSc degree at the university.

He said he was very happy and relieved to have come this far.

“I have worked hard over the past four years and it has been quite a challenge.

“The most important thing is to focus on your goals. Dedication, commitment and hard work are required to be a successful engineering student,” he said.

Frederick, who completed matric at Southlands Secondary School in Bayview, Chatsworth, said his undergraduate experience at the School of Engineering has been a positive one.

While he found the academic component challenging, Frederick said he felt he has matured immensely over the course of his studies.

“My parents are very happy and proud of me.

“I owe all my success to them because of the way they brought me up,” Frederick said.

He will start working at Altech as an electronic engineer after completing his masters degree.
