Varsity hockey on TV

2013-05-11 00:00

THE next round of women’s matches in the Varsity Sports hockey competition is split between University of the Free State and University of Johannesburg.

Home side Kovsies will tackle UP-Tuks as well as Wits and NWU-Pukke in this round. These matches are taking place at University of the Free State Hockey Centre today, tomorrow and Monday.

At the same time, UJ will host Maties, UCT and NMMU of Port Elizabeth on their home pitch.

The teams will be desperate to earn more log points ahead of the play-offs, which take place at Tuks in Pretoria the following weekend.

The opening round at University of the North West in Potchefstroom saw the planned TV coverage not happen due to technical glitches.

Varsity Hockey for men starts next year.
