Shernaaz Moola, whose family has been involved in the city’s business community for many years, has launched Battery Shack at 335 Boom Street in the CBD.

The Witness that although the industry is highly competitive, the scope for growth is immense given that the city boasts more than 115 000 light motor vehicles, which are used by “residential consumers”.

Moola said she plans to bring a distinctly feminine touch to her approach to the business.

She also aims to maximise the synergy with an existing business owned by the family, Xpress Trailer Spares in Mkondeni, which was launched about four years ago.

Battery Shack specialises in the Varta/Deltec range of batteries, which offers a variety of maintenance-free products.

Moola said that the company supplies batteries for cars, trucks, bikes, boats, caravans, agricultural equipment and industrial

machinery.

She plans to expand the range in order to supply battery products in other sectors.

Moola said she has invested in two highly capable and experienced employees, Leon Fourie who is the manager, and Christopher Landsberg who in internal sales and fittings.
