Vodacom: Earn money by volunteering for NPOs

2012-11-13 00:00

THE Vodacom Change the World initiative is calling for skilled South Africans to work at a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) of their choice for a year and get paid a salary.

Through the programme, these volunteers are paid a monthly salary to dedicate their time, energy, and skills to local NPOs for a year.

The initiative has been running since 2010.

To enter, you need to approach your chosen NPO and gain their support. Agree on a project plan and deliverables for your time with them and submit your application on www.vodacom.co.za/changetheworld.

Applications where the project focus is on health, education and the use of information communication technology (ICT) to solve social needs will have an advantage.

Vodacom has compiled a list of NPOs on their website that require volunteers, or you may select an NPO of your own choice.

Entries open on November 12 and close at 4 pm on January 20, 2013.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and be South African residents. Successful applicants will be notified by March 25, 2013, and must be available for their induction from April 21-24, 2013 with placements commencing May 2, 2013.
