E.TV brings South African viewers a first in television and a unique concept in competitive dancing with its broadcast of the Superdance Championship at 9 pm tomorrow.

The competition provides the dramatic finale to e.tv’s reality Latin dance series, Superdance South Africa, and features some of the best dance duos from North America, Europe, Asia and South Africa.

Competing for the title are Slavik Kryklyvyy and Anna Melnikova (Russia), Andre and Natalie Paramonov (Canada), Dorin Frecauntanu and Roselina Doneva (Moldova), Danny Liang Zhao and Vivian Xue Gao (China), and Bohlale Manyane and Nyembezi Mahlangu, who won Superdance South Africa.

Other highlights this week include:

Monday

• Asterix and Obelix: Mission to Cleopatra (SABC2, 8 am): It’s 52 BC, Cleopatra’s Egypt is under the yoke of the Roman Empire, and she needs the help of the Gauls to prove her people are still great. A fun film for all.

• What I Like About You (SABC3, 7.30 pm): In this new comedy series, we meet wild teenager, Holly (Amanda Bynes), who has to move in with her straitlaced sister, Valerie (Jennie Garth), when her widowed father takes off to live in Japan. The result: havoc.

Tuesday

• Bayethe Jesu (SABC2, 10 pm): Zee’s world comes crashing down around him when his mother ends up in a coma after a serious car accident and his workaholic father sends him off to his rural cousins in KwaZulu-Natal for the Christmas holidays.

Wednesday

• C.I.G.A.R.E (SABC3, 8.31 pm): Tonight’s highlights include a visit to the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart, an exclusive yacht tour in Cape Town courtesy of Peroni and an interview with nutrition guru Patrick Holford, who goes into the do’s and don’ts of eating.

• Africa Day Broadcast (SABC2, 10 pm): Africa Day exemplifies the achievements made by the various leaders on the continent.

Thursday

• Jacob’s Cross (SABC2, 9.30 pm): Femi’s rise to power accelerates as he is accepted into the Abayomi family business; Bola finds himself a free man, and Jacob is placed in an almost impossible position.

• Durham County (M-Net, 9.30 pm): Drama series that centres on Detective Mike Sweeney (Hugh Dillon) and his family as they move from the city to a seemingly idyllic suburb in the hope of making a new start but Mike is assigned a serial killer case.

• Pantsula Christmas (SABC2, 11.30 pm): A Christmas story with a unique South African twist, township street dancing and age-old Christmas music together.

Friday

• Reservoir Dogs (SABC1, 10 pm): A Quentin Tarantino film.
