Pmb Event: The February meeting of the Decorative Arts Society is at 12.30 pm for 1 pm at the Heritage Hall, St John’s United Church, 344 Jabu Ndlovu Street (Loop Street). This month Geoff Burr, a specialist antique dealer from Cape Town, will be talking on art deco sculpture. The members fee is R20, and visitors pay R30. This includes light refreshments. Pmb Art: The Tatham Art Gallery’s New Acquisitions exhibition runs until May 4. This showcases works bought by and donated to the gallery over the last couple of years, as well as some older pieces that have been in the Tatham but never accessioned into the collection. Pmb Art: In both the Tatham’s Schreiner Gallery and the Georgetown Library in Edendale is Edendale Excels, a celebration of four artists with links to Edendale — Gerard Bhengu, Michael Zondi, Chickenman Mkhize and Siyabonga Sikosana, ending on May 4 in the Tatham and February 29 at Georgetown. Pmb Art: The exhibition of Wearable Art by Sue Akerman, Annette McMaster, Jutta Faulds and Clare Smith in the Café and 3D Galleries continues this month. There are also angels, mosaics, papier-mâché pieces and jewellery by Macs members and wire birds by Wesley Flanagan. For more information, phone 033 386 6500 (mornings). Pmb Art: The Basani Art and Craft Centre at 15 Hyslop Road is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm (closed Mondays). Basani has a new work-in-progress gallery where emerging artists and crafters work and run workshops. The Basani Kitchen serves light refreshments in a garden setting. Pmb Art: The Blue Caterpillar Gallery at Butterflies for Africa is currently showing paintings by Pietermaritzburg-born Dutch resident, Jon Eiselin. The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday.
