• 10 am. The next test for membership of Mensa, the high IQ society, will be on June 7 in Westville. Cost: R100 (students half-price), and candidates may leave with their results. The test is optimised for 16 years and older.

• 10.30 am. Friends of Natal Museum host a talk to mark World Environment Day. Richard Boon, manager of the Biodiversity Planning and Environmental Management Department of eThekwini Municipality will talk on saving biodiversity in our cities. • 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Children’s art, creative painting and drawing. Inquiries: 033 342 1638.

• 2 pm. Maritzburg Croquet Club invites people of all ages for a game of croquet in Alexandra Park opposite the cricket Oval. Inquiries: Tim at 033 502 0101 or Viv at 033 396 3661.

• 2 pm. The Ramblers’ Club of Pietermaritzburg invites people interested in hiking to join them in walking the hills of Pietermaritzburg and its environs. Interested people should be reasonably fit and may contact Francois at 033 344 2754.

• 2.30 pm. The Botanical Society KZN Inland Branch is holding its AGM at the Strelitzia Room Restaurant at the Botanical Gardens in Pietermaritzburg. Kevin McCann will talk on the Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife Biodiversity Stewardship Programme, followed by refreshments. Phone Isabel Johnson at 082 921 3118 for details.
