Win tickets to Durban Prawn Festival

2010-10-02 00:00

MORE than a ton of tiger prawns will be cooked up by 25 restaurants at this year’s Durban Prawn Festival next Thursday and Friday at SUNZone, Suncoast Casino & Entertainment World from 7 pm. Two lucky Weekend Witness readers can win double tickets to the event, which is now in its third great year. Restaurants will vie with each other to produce the most tempting prawn dishes and visitors will be able to enjoy some of the Cape’s finest wines along with their seafood.

Each visitor to the festival will receive two complimentary glasses of wine courtesy of KWV and each chef will choose a wine from KWV that complements their signature dish. The wines on offer will include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage Rosé, Merlot and the latest additions to the range the Chenin Blanc/Chardonnay and Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon blends.

“We are excited to be involved with the festival for a second year running. It is about enjoying the flavours brought on by the wine and food combination and this environment offers us the opportunity to interact with food enthusiasts who are keen to experience new tastes,” said a KWV spokesperson.

Tickets are available at Computicket at R150 per person or at the door on each evening. The festival is an adult event and no children under 18 will be allowed.

To stand a chance of winning the tickets or one of four colourful cooler bags and two bottles of KWV wine each, simply SMS the word “Witness” followed by “KWV” and your name to 34419. (SMSes charged at R2. SMS before 3 pm on Tuesday. Winners announced on Wednesday in The Witness.
