Wishes for Christmas: from more grandchildren to 'cement in Steve’s chimney'

2010-12-24 00:00

THE Witness contacted a few personalities to find out their plans and what gifts they hope to find under the tree.

Comedian John Vlismas, famous for taking the mickey out of people, will be taking advantage of a deserted Johannesburg and staying at home. He does not covet any particular Christmas gifts.

“I just want world peace and an end to HIV, cancer and Steve Hofmeyr. I’m asking Santa to go to [Hofmeyr’s] house and fill his chimney with cement...,” said Vlismas.

uMgungundlovu Mayor Yusuf Bhamjee did not hesitate when asked what gifts he wants. “I would love to have more grandchildren and I hope for more peace and joy in the whole district,” he said.

Ryan Calder, leader of the successful Ryan Calder Band will have a chilled morning at church before driving up to Albert Falls for a family braai. He has his sights set on either an Apple iPod or an iPhone for Christmas.

Up and coming kwaito star Unkle Licious is also looking forward to a family Christmas. His family will make their way from different corners of SA to his mother’s restaurant in Estcourt. “I’m not performing,” he said. A fan of the shaven dome, he hopes that Santa will leave a portable shaver in his stocking tomorrow.
