Woman raped in Dalton

2013-06-07 00:00

A PHYSICALLY disabled woman was raped at her home in Khamboni, Dalton, on Wednesday night.

According to police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane, the 49-year-old woman was sleeping when she heard someone breaking the door to her home.

She was about to go out and investigate when she noticed a man standing in her bedroom. It was at about 11.40 pm and the man’s face was covered.

“The man broke the door and when she shouted for help he threatened her with a knife. He then pushed her to the bed where he raped her. Once he was done, he stole R450 and assaulted her with his fists before fleeing the scene,” a neighbour told The Witness.
