Women say thank you for all Abbey Fields help

2012-11-19 00:00

THE Zululand Chapter of the SA Women’s Association held their end-of-year dinner to thank all their supporters for contributing to the association and the retirement complex that is being built in Richards Bay.

The association’s chairperson, Louisa Erasmus, said the cheese-and-wine evening that was held on Thursday gave the institution the chance to thank loyal supporters who continue to hold community upliftment in high regard.

“We have much to celebrate and it was great to have the chance to thank all those who were involved,” said Erasmus.

The retirement complex broke ground in Veldenvlei on Bottlebrush Bend Road in May this year.

It has been in the planning stages for the last four years.

Once completed, the mixed development will offer housing geared to suit all pockets.

The secure village will comprise sectional title flats, “life right” accommodation and a sub-economic pension housing facility known as Abbey Fields.

“We are a small group of volunteers who share a common dream and see this project as the most important initiative we have ever undertaken.

“We will make this the best retirement project in the country, and make uMhlathuze residents proud to be a part of this city,”

Erasmus told The Witness.
