Women’s Day concert with Jason promises to be a great occasion

2010-07-31 00:00

THE Midlands Meander Association, which marks its 25th anniversary in 2010, is celebrating Women’s Day in style with a concert at Yellowwood Cafe in Howick on Monday, August 9.

Headlining the concert is Idols winner, Jason Hartman, a true son of the midlands and an official ambassador for the Midlands Meander.

Hartman will be making his debut with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra singing his own composition Break the Silence, Van Morrison’s Have I Told You Lately and Bryan Adams’s Everything I Do.

The singer’s love of music was evident and fostered from a young age by his father, Sam, who had played in bands on a part time basis while running his business. The midlands was also where Hartman developed a great love for the outdoors and the environment. He learnt to converse in Zulu and enjoyed learning and teaching any new skills wherever he could.

Tickets are R85 for adults, R70 for pensioners and R30 for children under 16 from Computicket, Yellowwood Cafe in Howick at 033 330 2462, at the Woza Woza offices in Howick, at Parklane Superspar in Pietermaritzburg or at the gate on the day of the concert.
