World Cup tickets: Those looking to buy urged to act swiftly as fifth and final round begins today

2010-04-15 00:00

THOSE who are still looking to purchase Fifa 2010 World Cup tickets should act quickly, as the fifth and final phase of ticketing sales, involving about 500 000 tickets for 63 matches (all games except the final), will be made available to the public from today.

Eleven ticketing offices across the country will begin selling tickets over the counter from 9 am this morning. The two nearest offices to Pietermaritzburg are at the Suncoast Casino in Durban and and at the Gateway Mall in Umhlanga.

Those unable to get to a ticketing office should visit any local FNB branch, taking cash with them for their tickets (credit card payments will not be accepted) and a copy of their ID books.

There will be no waiting period and those buying tickets will know immediately, depending on availability, whether or not they will be able to purchase their desired tickets. After filling out an application form, buyers will be given a barcoded card that will allow them to collect their tickets at any of the 11 official ticketing offices.

This exchange can be done at any time leading up to the match that they will be attending.

FNB branches in Pietermaritzburg open at 9 am this morning, except for the Boom Street branch, which opens at 8 am. To purchase tickets telephonically, call 083 123 2010.
