2013-07-01 00:00

THERE was satisfaction for the Investec South Africa women’s hockey team in putting together a good performance in beating Spain 3-2 in the play-off for seventh and eighth places in the Investec World League semi-final tournament at Chiswick’s University of Westminster ground in London yesterday.

An excellent brace of goals by striker Lilian du Plessis in the 19th and 29th minutes and a superb strike in the 33rd minute by Kelly Madsen ensured that South Africa finished seventh in the tournament.

The match between South Africa and Spain will be screened at 6 pm tonight on SuperSport 4 and at 11.30 pm on SS6.
