2010-03-31 00:00

MACDONALD Steel Pietermaritzburg specialises in the supply of commercial mild steel products to the structural, construction and civil engineering sectors.

The product range includes mild steel in the form of rounds, squares, flats, angles, channels, beams, sheets, plates and coils.

From its two-year-old 10 000 square-metre facility located in the industrial hub of Pietermaritzburg, MacDonald Steel Pietermaritzburg services the hinterland.

Steel supplied by Macdonald Steel is used for the construction of agricultural infrastructure, schools, hospitals, community facilities, commercial and industrial properties, as well as civil projects such as dams, bridges and roads.

MacDonald Steel also boasts a well-appointed fleet of vehicles that travel the length and breadth of South Africa’s roads, delivering high-quality steel products to client specifications, on time, every time.

“MacDonald Steel has shown growth in the first three months of 2010, and we are looking forward to great things this year” says manager, Shayne Moore.

The sales team has been beefed up in anticipation of the upturn in the market by the addition of internal sales people Dawn Tocknell, Raymond Scheepers and Darren Bezuidenhout. Hylton Deale (senior sales consultant), Mark Williams (consultant), and Bheki Dlamini (government projects consultant) are the additions to the external sales team.

Moore intends to focus more on offerings consumables such as welding rods, cutting discs, paint for steel, and palisade and wire fencing to the public. There is plenty of parking and deliveries are made throughout Pietermaritzburg. Don’t let the imposing building fool you into thinking MacDonald Steel Pietermaritzburg is only for the industrial customer. — WR.
