uMngeni Municipality: Ratepayers want management kicked out

2009-06-19 00:00

THE uMngeni Joint Ratepayers’ Forum is to petition KwaZulu-Natal Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize to support a vote of no confidence withregard to the current management of the uMngeni Municipality.

The forum proposes that the premier brings criminal charges against the officials named recently in a forensic report and suspends those suspected of wrongdoing.

The petition also asks the premier to establish a co-operative and transparent administration in the area and to appoint a commission of inquiry into activities pertaining to municipal administration.

The forum will hold public meetings in Hilton, Nottingham Road and Howick to drum up support for the petition.

Throughout the municipal area, tables will be set up at strategic points for those wanting to support the action.
