A great body whip

  email story

After taking on a life changing challenge under personal trainer Justin Egling, Nonzwakazi Cekete shares her experiences so far about being in the hands of a body panel-beater:

"I know the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle but have never flirted with the idea of going to gym. Those skinny freaks tend to throw dirty looks at women with fuller figures like me.

But when the challenge to exercise with celebrity trainer Justin Egling presented itself, I did not think twice. I grabbed it with both hands.

Although it was not going to be a walk in the park, I committed myself.

To initiate Babalwa Shota and I, Egling took us on walks around his neighbourhood in Kelvin. It is tough but Babs seems to be conquering the steep areas which still kill me softly. Good news though is that I am not getting tired as quickly as before. Could this be a sign that I am becoming fitter? Only time will tell.

Besides the road walks, I have been brisk walking on the treadmill. Honestly, road walks are much friendlier than Trilly the Tready. She is cruel and knows no mercy. Twenty minutes on that machine and I am sweating like a pig and cannot do anything afterwards. It sucks.

What is a bit of a bitter sweet experience though, is the kicking boxing. You pretend to be beating the hell out of your enemy while burning calories. As easy as that...

What I am truly enjoying are the crunches as they are working on firming my butt and tummy. But I am cheating a bit. Instead of 20, I go halfway. They are not so much hard work but tiresome.

It has only been three weeks into this course and I can safely confirm it is physical torture. But what keeps me going is that somewhere in the near future lies physical pleasure. For now, I am feeling good about myself - something my soul has been longing for some time."

Justin's Tip Of The Week:

"As clichéd as it may sound, you are what you eat. If you long for a healthy lifestyle, watch what you put in your mouth. Make sure you eat five to six small and corrects meals a day while taking your supplements. Also drink eight to nine glasses of water. Sleep is also a part of a healthy you, so invest eight hours, not less or more, every night. There is no diet that works better than this one."
