Christchurch - The big rugby player with the short surname will become the third member of the Bulls elite "Club 50" in the Jade stadium on Saturday.
The dramatic victory of the Bulls over the Stormers on Saturday has paved the way for Springbok lock Bakkies Botha to play for the Bulls for the 50th time in a Super 12/14 match.
Bulls coach Heyneke Meyer said: "We're happy for Bakkies that he does not have to wait to next season to realise this milestone. He's one of our stalwarts because with him there is no half measures. It's all or nothing."
The three Bulls players who have played 50 matches are all in the starting line-up to play against the Crusaders.
Victor Matfield, lock and captain, was the founder member of Club 50 last year. He was followed by Pedrie Wannenburg (eighthman) who realised this milestone earlier this year.
Wannenburg and Botha (2.02m, 118kg) are the two Bulls forwards who have maintained their top form the entire season. The Bulls will again depend on them to provide the spark at the Jade Stadium.
Meyer has made it clear that a victory would depend on the Bulls pack. If they are dominant the Bulls will be in with a fighting chance.
