Sao Tome - An accord was reached on Wednesday to end the crisis sparked by last week's coup in Sao Tome and Principe, junta boss Major Fernando Pereira announced.
"An accord has been reached and the national assembly is to meet to vote on a general amnesty," Pereira said after talks with a South African delegation that arrived in the west African island state Tuesday to support the efforts of a 30-strong international mediation team.
He did not elaborate on the scope of the accord.
