Paris - Some of the lawyers of the Bulgarian nurses facing the death penalty in Libya have not received authorisation to take part in their retrial.
French lawyer Emmanuel Altit said: "Despite the promises of the Libyan authorities, we have not been allowed" to act as legal counsel.
He said: "I regret that we have not been supported by the diplomacy of the different countries."
The other lawyers in the case were Bulgarian and Libyan.
The retrial of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor accused of infecting hundreds of Libyan children with the Aids virus resumed on Tuesday in Libya.
The prosecutor in the trial called for the death penalty before the trial was adjourned to September 05.
An initial trial in the eastern city of Benghazi sentenced the six to death by firing squad in May 2004 in a case that had strained ties between Tripoli and Sofia.
