Addis Ababa - Amid dwindling funds for humanitarian operations and rising cases of malnutrition, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) has said that up to three million Ethiopians are in need of urgent food aid.
WFP indicated since an appeal for $271m was launched last December to finance Ethiopia's food needs in 2005, just 58% of the total $212m worth of food required in 2005, or 250,000 metric tonnes, has been secured for non-food items.
