Kibaki wins Kenyan election

Nairobi - President Mwai Kibaki has won Kenya's presidential election by more than 300 000 votes, the head of the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) says.

"The commission therefore declares Honourable Mwai Kibaki as the winner," ECK chairperson Samuel Kivuitu told a small group of reporters at the election tally centre.
