Algers - Five people died and six were injured in Algeria on Thursday after fresh flash floods struck Ain Torki, 120km west of Algiers, the APS news agency reported.
The victims, aged between 30 and 60 years old, were sleeping when their homes collapsed after incessant rain flooded the Djemai valley in the Ain Torki region of western Algeria, it said.
Algerian weather services predicted more rain and stormy weather on Thursday and Friday in at least eight areas of the country.
Thirty-four people died and 89 were injured according to official count in flash floods that struck southern Algeria last week.
