Tripoli - Mali's government and Tuareg
rebels have agreed on a ceasefire intended to open the way for a
final peace settlement to end months of conflict in the Sahara,
both sides said on Thursday after peace talks in Libya.
"The two sides reached an agreement for a ceasefire ... to
stop all hostilities," representatives of Bamako's central
government and Tuareg rebels said in a joint statement issued in
Tripoli.
