Johannesburg - Five men were arrested after they confessed to stealing a number of computers, Katlehong police said on Friday.
Constable Lindelani Dladla said police were conducting a stop and search operation at a hostel in Vosloorus in the early hours of the morning when they came upon a bakkie with five men inside.
"During the search they found nine computers and keyboards and one printer."
A revolver with five rounds of ammunition, a crow bar and a screwdriver were also recovered.
One of the men was wearing a balaclava and all of them were wearing gloves.
When police asked where the computer equipment was from, the men "failed to give the police clear information".
Dladla said the men, aged between 27 and 37, then confessed they had stolen the computers and were subsequently arrested.
On Monday they would appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate's Court on charges of the possession of suspected stolen property, an unlicensed firearm and illegal ammunition.
