Luanda - Angola violated election laws by failing to provide voter registration lists at polling stations during a parliamentary election on Friday, the head of a European Union observer team said on Saturday.
"The law was broken because the electoral registration was not distributed," Luisa Morgantini, who is leading a 120-member EU teamsaid. "We cannot say the process was done according to the rules."
Morgantini said Angola's election officials should consider meeting with international observers to discuss the problems with the voting, which was marred by delays and other glitches.
Angola's electoral commission extended voting to Saturday.
