New York - United Nations chief Ban Ki-Moon says he is very worried that a Sudanese rebel group, active in the country's war-ravaged Darfur region appears to be using child soldiers, reports Reuters
Ban also said he was "deeply disappointed" by the lack of progress that had been made towards ending the five-year-old conflict in western Sudan.
Bad said: "I am particularly concerned by reports of child soldiers among the JEM (Justice and Equality Movement) combatants in Omdurman, in clear violation of international law.
"My office is pressing for the release of the children detained by the government of Sudan during the attack and I condemn the use of child soldiers in all instances."
