Cairo - Twenty-two people were killed in a dispute between two families
in Upper Egypt on Saturday, police said.
The feud occurred in the village of Gerga, in Sohag province, a
police official said without elaborating on the cause of the
dispute, the names of the two families or how the victims were
killed.
The official said that vendettas were fairly frequent in Upper
Egypt, although he acknowledged that this was the bloodiest
recorded in more than 30 years.
